Week 5

Something happened this week i never thought i'd see. Grass. The snow finally started to melt, seems that Groundhog Phil may have been correct, spring is on its way. After the weekend was out there was barely any snow in sight with the weather picking up and getting warmer. I did think people in T-shirt and shorts was slightly optimistic, it was only +7C, granted that does make a difference from -16C. Apparently by the end of the week we should see a temperature of around +15C!!! =) Happy Days!!

On Saturday 12th February, Circa came to town all the way from Brisbane, Australia. http://www.rocknrollcircus.com/ 46 circus acts in only 45 Minutes- i must admit at one point i didn't think they would make it, but they did. Here at Juniata when events such as these are shown everyone gets together and makes the effort to go. Plus, it's free, which will always attract students. The show was pretty amazing with acts ranging from slapstick comedy to painful acts such as a nail up the girls nose, balloon  up the guys nose and out of his mouth. Those acts reminded me of Britain's got Talent with Stevie Starr, who also features at Lincoln freshers...
The atmosphere was great everyone seemed to enjoy the show and it was a pretty good Saturday night out followed by sunshine on the Sunday.

Juniata every academic year has a whole host of traditions ranging from Mountain Day to Lobster-fest and even a Pig Roast. The date this year for Pig Roast is April 30th where everyone goes up to the lake, has Pig Roast and Kegs of beer- always a bonus! Seeing as i am only on a one semester exchange i did miss out on the autumn traditions, but i am glad i get to experience and join in with the spring ones. Alumni even come back to join us and apparently it is a really good event that seems to be a huge hit each year. I cannot wait to see the lake, some of the exchange students that have been here since September have shown me photos and it looks so peaceful...until Juniata College get there that is!

I also learnt the grading system this week for Juniata when i received a 95 on my first piece of work which i am very happy about. I am surprised at how much i have already learnt in only 5 weeks of being here, so to get a good grade like that back makes it all the worth while. To make my day even better, ABC started showing Desperate Housewives again after renewing the contract!!!! (It's as if they knew how to make my day even better!)

I have an exam on February 21st which i have to say i am not looking forward too, also knowing i will have a less interesting week ahead of me revising all the time. Fingers crossed i get a good grade!
